Sleep

Sleep young maiden, for you’ve fought too long
There in your dreams, the fantasy within
Beneath the moon, under the stars
A trance of tranquil charm, away from harm

Let your breath rest in its usual rhythm
Let your playful day end in a peaceful way
But dreams can be an unpredictable place
A world to discover that’s hard to trace

But who says no adventure can be seen
In a night of sleep and blurry dreams
It does reveal your little whims
Or maybe something weirdly foreseen

What it can reveal you
You can never believe
It’s as if you are awake
You see the path you take

Sometimes you feel you are about to break
Sometimes you thought you flew above a lake
At times you journey, afar or near
It’s dreamland anyway, nothing to fear

Sleep young maiden, you will never know
The power of sleep, the reality of dreams
Don’t worry too much about the things you see
Remember that God watches you even in dreams
